From 19 to 21 July 2024, the Corny Littmann Foundation for Art and Culture is organising the international Spielbudenfestival on St. Pauli for the third time. The festival for street art and theatre on Spielbudenplatz has become an integral part of Hamburg’s cultural scene and this year presents artists from Argentina, Italy, Great Britain and Switzerland, among others.

Street art on Spielbudenplatz has a long tradition: the first wooden stalls were erected as early as 1795, where marionette theatre and tightrope walkers, among others, put on performances. These stalls gave the square its name. The Spielbudenfestival on St. Pauli continues this tradition and brings a colourful programme of different genres such as acrobatics, comedy, music, magic and curiosities to the stage every year.
