The Summer Deck opens its bar for neighborhood enthusiasts of all kinds. While in the pre-Christmas season, hot drinks are served for warm thoughts, in the summer months, the two hosts and St. Pauli locals, John and Christian, along with their team, take care of keeping you cool.
The Offering
At the Summer Deck, it’s all about classic cocktails and modern signature creations. Weekly changing specials keep the drink menu fresh, and no one should leave Spielbudenplatz without trying the homemade Mexikaner, the iced tea, or the refreshing basil lemonade. And let’s not forget the whiskey selection, which is definitely worth a look… In short: no one will leave thirsty here. Events like rustic BBQ evenings and DJ sets round off the sundowner experience with the best view of the vibrant neighborhood bustle.

The Hosts
John and Christian are familiar faces to anyone who regularly hangs out on the Kiez. John has more than 20 years of history with Spielbudenplatz, having worked as a bartender or bar manager at places like kukuun, St. Pauli Theater, and the associated house bar. After running a container on Spielbudenplatz for 9 years, he has been a permanent part of the team since 2021, beyond the summer season. Both know the neighborhood inside and out and are now making sure your summer nights at the Summer Deck are unforgettable.
